- [Instructor] While artificial intelligence has been discussed somewhat broadly for decades, there's rarely been as much excitement around it as there is today. This figure from a Deloitte Technologies report that was put out in 2021 shows where AI stands today and what might happen in the future. Decades ago, as an example, we had artificial tools, calculators, essentially, that would let us go through and do basic mathematical calculations. From there, we went on to develop databases, and then eventually, to develop tools that would allow us to do basic descriptive analytics. Things like means, median, standard deviations. That all took place, say, in the 1990s. Once we got into the 2000s, and certainly, the 2010s, we started to get more and more advanced predictive analytics tools, things that we could use for forecasting and different tasks of that nature.
