- So if you ask me what color keying is for, I wouldn't say that it's for moving backgrounds exactly, because there are a lot of ways to do that. The real point of color keying is to preserve edges. And so in this section, I'm going to show you how to focus just on the edges, and make sure that you're working just on that one crucial area of the shot above all, and making it as good as possible. So instead of having edges that are compromised, and look look chewy and crunchy because you let other areas of the shot influence them, we're going to look at how to focus just on the edges and get them looking as refined and detailed as possible.
