Working with gestures

- Gestures are powerful ways of directly manipulating touchscreen interfaces. And they open new methods for people with disabilities to use touchscreens. Gestures are practically essential for a blind person to operate a touchscreen device. With gestures, they have the ability to swipe through an interface to move a cursor around the screen. Very similar to the way they can use a keyboard to move the cursor on a desktop computer. This is an effective technique because they can't see the screen. They manipulate the cursor with swipes and flicks, up, down, left, right and many others. Here's why that matters to you. When you're designing an interface, remember not everyone will use the touchscreen the same way as you.
