- Clips are the building blocks of projects in Ableton live and they work a bit differently in session view. So let's look a bit closer and learn how to control clip playback. So I've got exercise one from chapter four open, if you want to follow along. And I want to start by emphasizing that it's a good idea to indicate to live which window that you're working in. And we can do that with these two really important buttons right here on the master track. And we have the stop all clips button, and we have the back to arrange button. Now, right now, if I tab over to arrange view, everything looks normally. But if I go back over to session view and I click this stop all clips button it's as if we're indicating to Ableton, Hey, we're working in session view, and you'll notice that the back to arranged button is now orange.
