Projecting UVs with UVW Map

- [Instructor] We've seen how to adjust the scale of a map within the shading network. We can use the UVW transform node and there are other ways to do it but that's only half of the story. Setting the scale or tiling of a map within the shading network defines the properties of that shading network, but it has nothing to do with an actual object in your scene. The object also has to have UVW mapping coordinates in order to specify how that material shading network is going to be applied onto the specific object. And I've got a version of my travertine floor here in which we can see that we've got very large tiles and this is because I currently have the default mapping coordinates that are generated by an extrude. I select that object, go over to the modify panel. We'll see that in the extrude modifier. There's a switch generate mapping coordinates and if we turn that off we don't get any material texture there. And…
