Job Overview

We are seeking a talented and motivated UI Designer to join our e-commerce team. The

ideal candidate will have 2-3 years of experience in UI design and a passion for creating

intuitive and visually appealing digital experiences. This role will mainly emphasize UI

design and require a solid understanding of UX design principles or an interest in

gaining knowledge in UX. The role will report to the Senior Director of UX/UI.

The ideal candidate excels in a collaborative environment, demonstrating strong

communication and interpersonal skills. The ideal candidate should possess a strong

enthusiasm for learning and the ability to adapt to dynamic environments, coupled with

problem-solving skills.

This position is a hybrid role located in NYC, with a requirement for 2-3 days of in-office

presence. The role will begin on a freelance basis for 40 hours a week, with the potential

to transition to a full-time employee role after 3-6 months.

Requirements

  • Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams including content strategist,

copywriter, creative team, marketing, engineering, and product team to

understand the project requirements and users' needs

  • Create design mockups and build prototypes for web and mobile apps, covering

editorial and homepage designs, promotional campaigns, and related assets for

customers in the US, UK, and Canada across various devices.

  • Contribute to the development and maintenance of design systems and

component libraries.

  • Work closely with the production team to manage assets and QA content

updates

  • Independently lead multiple small-sized projects from conception to launch,

driving stakeholder reviews and expert execution.

  • An online portfolio highlighting experience in designing consumer-facing products, with particular emphasis on apparel industry projects


Qualifications:

  • 3 years of experience as a UI or UX/Product or web designer
  • Proficiency with design tools including Figma and Adobe Suite
  • Knowledge of responsive design and accessibility
  • Ability to collaborate effectively in a fast-paced environment and adapt to shifting

priorities.

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Sharp attention to detail
  • Self-motivated with excellent organizational abilities, capable of successfully

executing tasks autonomously.

  • Exceptional expertise in image curation, visual storytelling, typography, layout,

color, grid systems, and a comprehensive understanding of design systems.

  • Familiarity or knowledge with CSS3, HTML, interaction design, and responsive

design.

  • Preferred qualifications include a bachelor's degree in design, human-computer interaction, or a related field
