What To Expect

This position is expected to start in-person around August or September 2024 and continue through the entire fall term (i.e. through end of 2024) or into early 2025 if available. We ask for a minimum of 12 weeks, full-time and on-site, for most internships. Please consider before submitting an application:

International Students: If your work authorization is through CPT, please consult your school on your ability to work 40 hours per week before applying. You must be able to work 40 hours per week on-site. Many students will be limited to part-time during the academic year.

Our year-round program places the best students in positions where they will grow technically, professionally, and personally through their experience working closely with their Manager, Mentor, and team. We are dedicated to providing an experience that allows the intern to experience life at Tesla by including them in projects that are critical to their team’s success.

As a member of the Visualization Team, you will be responsible for the design and creation of pre-rendered and real-time photorealistic automotive and product imagery, animations, digital assets and environments. Your work has the potential to be seen on a global scale, helping influence people and communities to accelerate the world’s transition to sustainable energy.

What You'll Do

  • Rendering high quality, photorealistic advertising content
  • Art direction and collaboration with leadership to create visually stunning imagery
  • Creation of realistic and fictitious digital assets and virtual environments
  • Optimization of CAD data and assets
  • Environmental atmospheric and lighting setups
  • Material/texture generation and virtual material prototyping (PBR pipeline)


  • What You'll Bring

  • Great portfolio displaying your passion as a Digital Artist
  • Artistic and technical knowledge in Unreal Engine
  • Basic level knowledge in Animations/Films/Cinematography/Photography
  • Basic level knowledge of PBR based workflows
  • Willingness to learn, think innovatively and display initiative
  • A passion for learning new tools/techniques and open to exchanging knowledge
  • Ability to understand color, visual compositions and lighting

  • Expected Compensation

    $20.00 - $50.00/hour + benefits

    Pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including market location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. The total compensation package for this position may also include other elements dependent on the position offered. Details of participation in these benefit plans will be provided if an employee receives an offer of employment.
