Hvac Estimator

Job Description

JOB DESCRIPTION

• Project Evaluation: Evaluate project plans, specifications, and other documents to understand the scope of work and requirements for HVAC systems.
• Cost Estimation: Utilize software tools and industry knowledge to accurately estimate the cost of HVAC materials, equipment, labor, and other resources required for a project.
• Proposal Preparation: Prepare detailed and competitive bids and proposals for HVAC projects, including cost breakdowns, timelines, and any special considerations.
• Vendor and Supplier Coordination: Coordinate with HVAC equipment suppliers and vendors to obtain pricing, lead times, and other necessary information for accurate cost estimation.
• Subcontractor Management: Work with subcontractors to obtain quotes for specialized HVAC services such as installation, ductwork fabrication, and maintenance.
• Value Engineering: Identify opportunities for value engineering to optimize HVAC systems' performance while minimizing costs, ensuring projects meet budgetary constraints without sacrificing quality.
• Cost Analysis: Analyze and compare actual project costs against estimated costs to identify discrepancies and areas for improvement in future estimates.
• Client Communications: Communicate effectively with clients, architects, engineers, and project managers to clarify requirements, address concerns, and ensure alignment throughout the estimation process.
• Regulatory Compliance: Stay informed about building codes, regulations, and industry standards related to HVAC systems to ensure compliance and avoid costly errors.
• Continuous Learning: Stay updated on advancements in HVAC technology, materials, and methods to improve estimation accuracy and stay competitive in the industry.
  
  

Qualifications

• Proven experience as an HVAC estimator or similar role in the construction industry.
• Strong understanding of HVAC systems, components, and installation practices.
• Proficiency in estimation software such as CAD or similar tools.
• Excellent mathematical and analytical skills.
• Attention to detail and accuracy.
• Effective communication and negotiation skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Familiarity with relevant building codes, regulations, and industry standards.
