Job Description

Turnitin is seeking to hire a Director, Global Talent Development & Culture to join our Global People Team, reporting to the VP, Global People Partnerships. The People Team enables Turnitin to unleash the full potential of ‘One Team’ and culture which, in turn, enables it to deliver its business strategy and purpose. 

The People Team is split into four verticals: 
  •  Global People Partners
  •  Centers of Excellence (COEs)
  •  People Services / HR Shared Services 
  •  People Strategy & Operations (PS&O) 

This is an exciting opportunity that will help shape, deliver and embed key organizational change, talent management, culture and remote workplace strategies and programs across the globe. The successful candidate will support global audiences to shape Talent Development & Culture initiatives, including Performance Management, Talent Review Process, Employee Recognition & Awards program, culture and employee engagement initiatives. This role will engage employees through various content and talent management initiatives/strategies.

What you will do:
  • Lead and collaborate with other C-Level leaders and our People Teams to design, communicate, train, and implement Talent Development & Culture initiatives
  • Design content and/or source external content providers/vendors where applicable
  • Identify and propose new ways of operating to improve/streamline current processes through networking and best practice research
  • Facilitate education and training sessions across the business
  • Maintain and track success metrics in employee programs through annual employee engagement surveys
  • Be a storyteller of our culture and a champion of engagement
  • Creatively curate, craft & communicate messages about behaviors, stories & initiatives that demonstrate our values, our culture norm’s and that capture the essence of our culture
  • Lead Culture initiatives for example: engagement activities, cultural calendar, employee recognition process and awards, and onboarding
  • Partner with leadership, the People Team and empower employees to develop and implement sustainable DE&I programming that enhances the employee experience and belonging through all stages of the employee lifecycle
  • Support  the company in incorporating DE&I throughout all talent processes, including succession planning and rewards
  • Develop and implement strategies through the People team and the Regions that are aimed at creating a Great Place to Work culture particularly in a remote-first environment
  • Generate programming that fosters a culture of accountability, trust, recognition, and results across all levels of the organization
  • Execute strategies to embed and promote the company's Employer Value Proposition (EVP), ensuring it aligns with the employee experience
  • Be a trusted advisor by peers, stakeholders and the People leadership team

Qualifications
  • 10+ years of increasing responsibility within HR, Talent Management, Communications, Marketing required, preferably with a global company, having led these functions
  • Bachelor's, Master's in business, HR or related discipline, or advanced degree in related discipline
  • Excellent communication skills (verbal and written)
  • Strong project and program management skills, particularly cross-functionally
  • Strong collaboration skills with all levels and functions, particularly in a global environment
  • Strong desire to be a team player and help in whatever capacity possible
  • Self-starter, proactive and highly accountable and resourceful (owns their initiatives completely)
  • Creative and innovative, with strong instincts with talent development programs, culture and digital communications trends
  • Experience working in a global environment demonstrating cultural dexterity
  • Skilled with qualitative and quantitative data to measure efforts, identify patterns and generate insights to drive business results
  • Lifelong learner. Continually learning about and staying connected to what’s new in internal communications, Learning & Development, and culture work

Additional Information

The expected annual base salary range for this position is: $165,525/year to $275,875. This position is bonus eligible / commission-based. As a Remote-First company, actual compensation will be provided in writing at the time of offer, if extended, and is determined by work location and a range of other relevant factors, including but not limited to: experience, skills, degrees, licensures, certifications, and other job-related factors. Internal equity, market and organizational factors are also considered.
