Computer Information Systems (CIS) Adjunct Faculty

General Duties: Adjunct instructors will be responsible for creating the class syllabus and planning class content, utilizing RVC’s Learning Management System (EAGLE).
Essential Job Functions
Teach courses required in CIS degree programs
Meet classes at assigned times
Maintain accurate course records and submit related reports as requested
Effectively assess student performance
Create a safe and inclusive learning environment for students
Utilize multiple strategies to facilitate learning, i.e. small group work, workshops, etc.
Incorporate new technologies and methods that enhance teaching and learning into his/her instructional methods
Support the Department and College through other work normally expected of adjunct faculty members
Maintain office hours convenient for students
Instruct students in the proper use of lab equipment where appropriate
Minimum Qualifications
Education and Credentials Bachelor’s Degree in CIS or a closely related field or closely related business experience. Successful teaching experience at a Community College preferred but not required.
Background should include working knowledge of one or more of the following areas:
Microsoft Office 2019 experience including Word, Excel, Access and PowerPoint
Common information technology terminology and concepts including basic concepts of hardware, software, networking, web design and cybersecurity
