Scope of Job

Our technology was developed at Caltech, deployed with research partners like NASA, proven-out with customers like Netflix and Children’s Hospital, and now scaling to fleets, corporations, and municipalities nationwide.

The Account Manager will act as the main point of contact for PowerFlex’s key accounts. This role will need to build and strengthen client relationships and develop long-term partnerships, with the goal of deploying as many mutually beneficial electric vehicle (EV) charging projects as possible. The role will require a self-starter who will excel at problem-solving by coordinating with various teams to ensure accountability and timely delivery of deliverables. The Account Management Associate will be responsible for managing complex situations involving multiple stakeholders and will be required to prioritize competing demands effectively.

Location

This role is open to be 100% remote or a hybrid role out of one of our offices (Mountain View, CA, San Diego, CA or New York, NY.)

Responsibilities

50% - External Account Management

  • Drive retention and growth among customers by understanding their business needs and helping them succeed
  • Have detailed knowledge of products and services offered and ensure that products and services consistently meet client needs.
  • Support Key Account Manager in developing strategies for PowerFlex’s key accounts to build new opportunities and manage the success of all current sites
  • Maintain a comprehensive understanding of each account in program, including key stake holders, reporting org chart, current pipeline, projects in development, incentive status, and operating assets
  • Monitor the status of all current sites and regularly create reports on health of existing sites to communicate to customer and internal teams
  • Provide internal and external updates on customer health check for each account weekly/monthly/quarterly
  • Work with Key Account Manager to coordinate account management outreach to accounts in the program
  • Identify opportunities to upsell PowerFlex solutions (additional technologies) to existing customers using the PowerFlex X platform
  • Maintain strong relationships with customers and key business executives

50% - Internal Coordination

  • Work with PowerFlex internal teams to ensure timely and reliable delivery of PowerFlex goods and services across the project lifecycle
  • Work with Key Account Manager to help continuously improve internal processes in support of account management
  • Help align PowerFlex internal timelines with customer expectations and maintain two-way communications around timeline evolution throughout the project lifecycle
  • Act as internal customer advocate, escalating issues internally as needed while keeping customer informed on progress

Qualifications

Education/Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, economics, environmental science, communications or relevant field
  • MBA / Master’s degree in relevant field a preferred
  • 5+ years of relevant work experience
  • Experience with customer and client communications required
  • Experience working with a proprietary software product required
  • Experience building and cultivating customer relationships required
  • Renewable energy or tech experience is preferred

Skills/Knowledge/Abilities

  • Ability to understand complex, technical issues and describe them to customers as well as further removed internal stakeholders
  • Comfortable in a flexible and rapidly changing work environment
  • Click Up & Microsoft PowerBI proficiency is a plus
  • Must be highly analytically skilled
  • Must be proficient in Salesforce and Microsoft Office Suite

Compensation

The pay range for this position is $81,000 - $135,000 annually. This position is eligible for PowerFlex's comprehensive Health and Welfare plans including but not limited to medical, dental, vision, 401(k) retirement plan and paid time off. The total compensation for this position may include an annual performance bonus (or other incentive compensation, as applicable). PowerFlex's compensation packages carefully consider a candidate's qualifications, experiences, and education in relation to the position.

Physical Requirements

Remaining in a seated position. Long hours on the computer keyboard. Prolonged periods of standing and/or walking.

Working Conditions

Approximately 80% of the time is spent in the office environment, utilizing computers (frequent use of MS Word, MS Excel, Outlook, Access, PowerPoint, Publisher and Adobe etc.), telephones, and general office equipment. 20% of the time is spent traveling to conferences, project sites, customer visits.
