For clinics hoping to improve patient care through the adoption of new technology, success depends on understanding the practice's unique needs. "Implementation planning for technology today must include discussions about a clinic’s scope of services, and what you are planning to do with this technology," says Per Halvorsen, Senior Director of Physics Clinical Operations at Varian. "It comes down to: How do we go about doing this in the best way for our patients?" https://bit.ly/46ss8CF

The passionate team members at Varian come from a wide range of technical and clinical backgrounds, but we are all united in our mission to enhance patient outcomes and help build a world without fear of cancer.     "What I’ve found most rewarding about working at Varian is the combination of bench-depth and willingness for collaboration," says Per Halvorsen, the recipient of this year's Marvin M.D. Williams Professional Achievement Award recognizing an outstanding career in medical physics. "Simply put, the access to expert knowledge on nearly any radiation oncology topic is unmatched by any setting I’ve worked in during my 33-year clinical career."     Are you a clinical physicist or dosimetrist interested in joining the team? https://bit.ly/3YeSXrU

Yesterday we had the pleasure of hosting Government of Alberta Minister of Technology and Innovation Nate Glubish and his team at our Palo Alto headquarters. The day was full of passionate discussion about how #government and #business experts can support each other in the never-ending quest to improve patient outcomes. From bolstering the training pipeline of medical experts, to leveraging #ArtificialIntelligence to reduce patient wait times, we're confident the path to progress is through meaningful collaboration. Thank you, Minister Glubish and your team, for your thought partnership and commitment to improving the lives of your constituents.

Congratulations to the National Taiwan University Cancer Center (NTUCC) for completing their HyperArc Clinical Implementation program - designed to enable simplicity, consistency and confidence during stereotactic radiosurgery. “The great thing is that the program helped us review the entire clinical process and optimize every small detail from CT-simulation to plan quality assurance," says Ms. Chia-Jung Wu, Chief Physicist of NTUCC. "We are looking forward to the operational results of this program." We've no doubt that your newly optimized clinical pathway will help you deliver best-in-class to even more patients. #TogetherWeFight

As the number of people living with cancer rises sharply, there will be an enormous burden on care professionals and our health systems. We believe that digital innovations, including AI, will be key to facing this challenge.     "When you get a cancer diagnosis, every minute counts. But cancer is complex, treatment is complex. No two cancers are alike because no two patients are alike," says Ashley Smith, President of Multi-Disciplinary Oncology at Varian.     "AI is speeding up the cumbersome parts of the process. At every step along the way, it aims to increase efficiency and personalization. Our goal is to help clinicians provide the right treatment at the right time and to ultimately help create a world where people don’t have to fear cancer."
