Strategic reinforcements incoming! The SWOT team is here, and no, we’re not talking about tactical squads. 💼 A SWOT analysis dissects your business’s Strengths, Weaknesses, Opportunities, and Threats. It can give you a 360-degree view of your business’s landscape—what you’re doing right, where you can improve, and what external factors could be game-changers. Just don’t let groupthink or HiPPOs (highest-paid person’s opinion) bias your insights. The trick? Keep it objective. Use solid data like customer satisfaction scores to avoid bias and ensure your SWOT analysis is as sharp as possible. Want to learn more? Should we trust AI to make all our UX decisions? 🔮 🎱 Magic 8-Ball says… “Don’t count on it.” We’ve all been there, hoping AI will give us the perfect answer. But just like shaking a Magic 8-Ball, relying too heavily on AI predictions can leave you with more questions than answers. According to a Salesforce genAI dashboard, inaccuracy rates of leading chat tools range between 13.5% and 19% in the best cases. In his recent article, Caleb Sponheim delves into AI hallucinations and Magic 8-ball thinking to help better interact with generative AI. Just like how we shouldn’t trust everything on the internet, we definitely shouldn’t trust everything AI tells us. Do your users struggle with decision-making on your site? 🤷♀️ When key differences between choices are implied or buried, users often select the wrong option or misunderstand the features. Tips to improve decision making: → Highlight Differences: For example, use comparison tables to emphasize key attributes → Highlight What’s Important: Focus users' attention on the things that matter. → Explicit Copy: Users might overlook or misunderstand their choices if the copy leaves exact differences to the imagination → Explicit SERPs: SERP titles and descriptions should clearly state the product or service offered by the link Read more from Taylor Dyke’s recent article update: https://lnkd.in/gDhG_Mjj Want to learn more about how users make decisions? Are you making these 4 common homepage design mistakes? 🖥️ Your homepage is a critical entry point for potential customers. Avoid these pitfalls to elevate your site and ensure a better user experience: 1. Illusion of Completeness: Avoid “false floors” by ensuring content peeks above the fold. 2. Weak or Absent Scrolling Signifiers: Use strong cues for horizontal and vertical scroll, like content bleeding off the page. 3. Deviation from Standards: Stick to familiar design standards to reduce cognitive load 4. Lack of Clear Focal Points: Maintain a clear visual hierarchy to emphasize key elements Watch Huei-Hsin Wang’s video for more examples: https://bit.ly/3SDJaIl #UXDesign #WebDesign #Homepage #UI #DesignMistakes #UserExperience #WebDevelopment
