For the second year, Grubhub partnered with FutureReady, a 6 week micro-internship initiative to promote tech job pathways for high school students from populations historically under-represented in tech. Through this program, created jointly with Tech:NYC and the NYC Dept of Education, we welcomed a class of high school students from the Food and Finance High School to the Grubhub team. Specific to Grubhub, students were tasked with designing a fictional restaurant that would be successful on Grubhub by leveraging anonymized food and menu data from their neighborhood of Hell's Kitchen. To close out their internship, students presented their restaurants and showcased their findings to members of the team in our New York Office. Thank you to all of the students who joined us this spring and to our Grubhub volunteers led by Jordan (Lardieri) Reagen. The volunteer team included Daniel Rogalski, Melissa M., Michelle Koufopoulos, Mayank Singh, Amy Martinez (Weber), and Melissa C.! And special thanks to Chef billy doherty, Chef at FFHS, and Bryan Lozano, Director of the Tech:NYC Foundation.
