Helping busy professionals get lean & strong, without the gym

About us

We know that it doesn't take a big gym and tons of equipment to get lean and strong. The time you'll save driving back & forth to a gym (and waiting around for equipment) will be all the time you need to work out! Plus you can do it wherever you like - your living room or back yard, a local park, even a small hotel room. However you have to know what you're doing to work out safely and effectively. That's where we come in. My name is Ryan Hoover, I'm a certified personal trainer and nutrition coach. I help clients achieve their healthiest, happiest bodies ever, both online and in person (Tampa Bay, Florida).

If you're a parent with young children, you're 𝘢𝘭𝘸𝘢𝘺𝘴 busy. Driving. Cooking. Cleaning. Laundry. Homework. And this is all before you've even done anything to take care of yourself. So we often think we should just delay the things we need to do for our health - like exercise, and learn to cook healthier meals for the family. 𝘐'𝘭𝘭 𝘨𝘦𝘵 𝘵𝘰 𝘵𝘩𝘢𝘵 𝘴𝘵𝘶𝘧𝘧 𝘭𝘢𝘵𝘦𝘳, we think. 𝘚𝘰𝘮𝘦 𝘥𝘢𝘺. But some day never really comes, does it? That's why we have to do what we can 𝙣𝙤𝙬. If we wait for someday we'll look around and see 10 years have gone by, our kids are teenagers and the whole family is overweight and seriously out of shape. And guess what? Now your kids will struggle with these same issues, probably for their whole lives. Affecting 𝗲𝘃𝗲𝗿𝘆𝘁𝗵𝗶𝗻𝗴 in their lives - their confidence, their school/work life, and definitely their social life. I don't know about you, but I refuse to let that happen. I'll do whatever I can to instill healthy, active habits in my kids while they're young. (𝘞𝘩𝘪𝘤𝘩 𝘪𝘴 𝘯𝘦𝘷𝘦𝘳 𝘦𝘢𝘴𝘺, 𝘣𝘦𝘤𝘢𝘶𝘴𝘦 𝘮𝘺 𝘰𝘭𝘥𝘦𝘴𝘵 𝘴𝘰𝘯 𝙡𝙤𝙫𝙚𝙨 𝘩𝘪𝘴 𝘷𝘪𝘥𝘦𝘰 𝘨𝘢𝘮𝘦𝘴). But how is it even possible, with a packed schedule of work, school, sports and hobbies, and house work? Stay tuned this week as we discuss practical strategies to fit fitness in for the whole family! #FamilyFitness #ParentFitness #HomeWorkout

It's the weekend. Time to 𝙥𝙖𝙧𝙩𝙮! Or if you're a parent, try to keep your kids semi-entertained while also doing all the house work, cooking, and laundry. 𝙁𝙪𝙣! If you're like most folks, you want to reward yourself for working hard all week. Treat yourself. Live a little. Usually we turn to food for this. So what will it be? Pizza? Fast food? Or maybe go out for ice cream? (𝘏𝘰𝘱𝘦𝘧𝘶𝘭𝘭𝘺 𝘯𝘰𝘵 𝘢𝘭𝘭 𝘰𝘧 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘢𝘣𝘰𝘷𝘦) I'm not gonna tell you that you should 𝗻𝗲𝘃𝗲𝗿 eat the foods your family enjoys most. Who wants to live like that? As long as there is some balance. If you've eaten (fairly) healthy all week long, then you probably should treat yourselves. Unfortunately that is not the case for most families. Most of us eat glorified junk all week, and junk on the weekend too. That's why the obesity rate is so high, along with the lack of exercise/movement. So is there anything we can do about this, that works in the real world? We have two basic approaches: 1. Eat a healthier version of whatever it is your family wants (cauliflower crust pizza for example, or blend fruit, yogurt & ice instead of ice cream.) 𝘕𝘰𝘵𝘦 𝘵𝘩𝘪𝘴 𝘥𝘰𝘦𝘴 𝙣𝙤𝙩 𝘮𝘦𝘢𝘯 𝘺𝘰𝘶'𝘭𝘭 𝘯𝘦𝘷𝘦𝘳 𝘦𝘢𝘵 𝘵𝘩𝘦 "𝘳𝘦𝘢𝘭" 𝘷𝘦𝘳𝘴𝘪𝘰𝘯 𝘢𝘨𝘢𝘪𝘯, 𝘪𝘵'𝘴 𝘫𝘶𝘴𝘵 𝘧𝘰𝘳 𝘵𝘰𝘥𝘢𝘺! 𝘐𝘧 𝘺𝘰𝘶 𝘢𝘵𝘦 𝘱𝘰𝘰𝘳𝘭𝘺 𝘢𝘭𝘭 𝘸𝘦𝘦𝘬, 𝘸𝘦 𝘩𝘢𝘷𝘦 𝘵𝘰 𝘴𝘵𝘢𝘳𝘵 𝘴𝘰𝘮𝘦𝘸𝘩𝘦𝘳𝘦 2. Eat the food you wanted to eat, but cut down on the portion size. Tricks to help with this: drink lots of water before the meal, eat a big salad before the meal, or drink a protein shake before the meal And over time it makes sense to try both approaches, not just one. Varying things up will help you eat healthier without feeling like you're on The Prison Diet. If you could use some help implementing healthier eating and exercise into your family's life, our new online fitness and nutrition program starts August 1st. And the first 5 lucky families to participate will get 50% off! Message us or comment below for more info 🍎🥑 What do you do to eat a little healthier on the weekends? Let's share! #FamilyNutrition #FamilyDiet #RealFamilyDiet #FamilyFitness

Parents: Ever heard the term "going from 0 to 100 miles per hour?" Usually when people say this they're talking about trying to go from doing very little or nothing, to trying to do 𝘸𝘢𝘺 too much. The classic example is people who don't exercise at all, then at New Year's they join a gym, go 4 times a week for the first week or two, then burn out and quit. People often forget to apply this to nutrition though. If your family is currently eating fast food/pizza several times a week and boxed/processed food most of the other meals, trying to all of a sudden eat nothing but salads and kale and quinoa just ain't gonna go well. Even if the adults are able to stick with this for more than 1-2 days (unlikely) the kids are going to revolt. I'm talking full-on mutiny. Calling their grandparents to come over, and 𝘨𝘦𝘵 𝘵𝘩𝘦𝘮 𝘴𝘰𝘮𝘦 𝘱𝘪𝘻𝘻𝘢 𝘢𝘯𝘥 𝘪𝘤𝘦 𝘤𝘳𝘦𝘢𝘮, 𝘧𝘰𝘳 𝘎𝘰𝘥'𝘴 𝘴𝘢𝘬𝘦! Going from 0 to 100 rarely works for anyone. It 𝗗𝗢𝗘𝗦 𝗡𝗢𝗧 mean you have no willpower, no motivation, or you're "just weak". It means you're normal. Your brain and body have become used to a certain way of eating. Breaking that habit "cold turkey" rarely works. A better idea - with 𝗳𝗮𝗿 more chance of succeeding in the long run - is to start trying to make 𝘰𝘯𝘦 meal healthier. Could be breakfast, lunch, or dinner. Whichever sounds easiest and most doable to you. Then start trying to make that meal healthier for your family 1-2 times per week. Otherwise, continue eating what you've been eating. After 3-4 weeks, those 1-2 healthy meals will feel normal. Just part of your routine. Then we add another 1-2 healthy meals to your week. Again, whatever sounds easiest. Before long, half of what your family eats are healthier foods. No mutinies, no calls to Grandma. Our new online fitness and nutrition program includes lots of healthy (and 𝘩𝘦𝘢𝘭𝘵𝘩𝘺-𝘪𝘴𝘩) meal ideas and recipes. The program starts August 1st, and the first 5 families to join the program will get 50% off the normal rate! If you need help going from 0 to 20, it's a great way to start 😎 #RealFamilyNutrition #RealFamilyDiet #RealNutrition #RealDiet #FamilyFitness #ParentFitness

Hi everyone! 🍎🥗 Let’s dive into the world of nutrition today. We probably don't need to tell you this (but just in case): 𝘸𝘩𝘢𝘵 𝘺𝘰𝘶 𝘦𝘢𝘵 is just as important to your health as 𝘩𝘰𝘸 𝘺𝘰𝘶 𝘮𝘰𝘷𝘦. But young kids are often picky eaters. (𝘝𝘦𝘳𝘺 picky. 𝘞𝘪𝘭𝘭 𝘪𝘵 𝘣𝘦 𝘤𝘩𝘪𝘤𝘬𝘦𝘯 𝘯𝘶𝘨𝘨𝘦𝘵𝘴 𝘰𝘳 𝘩𝘰𝘵 𝘥𝘰𝘨𝘴 𝘵𝘰𝘯𝘪𝘨𝘩𝘵, 𝘴𝘪𝘳?) That's why finding fairly healthy recipes, that your kids will actually eat, and don't take an hour to make, is vital: both for their health, and your sanity. Try this out: 𝘽𝙖𝙣𝙖𝙣𝙖 𝙍𝙤𝙡𝙡-𝙐𝙥 - 𝘙𝘰𝘭𝘭 𝘶𝘱 𝘴𝘭𝘪𝘤𝘦𝘥 𝘣𝘢𝘯𝘢𝘯𝘢 𝘪𝘯 𝘢 𝘴𝘰𝘧𝘵 𝘲𝘶𝘦𝘴𝘢𝘥𝘪𝘭𝘭𝘢 𝘴𝘩𝘦𝘭𝘭 (𝘱𝘳𝘦𝘧𝘦𝘳𝘢𝘣𝘭𝘺 𝘸𝘩𝘰𝘭𝘦 𝘸𝘩𝘦𝘢𝘵) 𝘸𝘪𝘵𝘩 𝘱𝘦𝘢𝘯𝘶𝘵 𝘣𝘶𝘵𝘵𝘦𝘳 𝘰𝘳 𝘢𝘭𝘮𝘰𝘯𝘥 𝘣𝘶𝘵𝘵𝘦𝘳. 𝘈𝘭𝘴𝘰 𝘸𝘰𝘳𝘬𝘴 𝘸𝘦𝘭𝘭 𝘸𝘪𝘵𝘩 𝘗𝘉&𝘑. 𝘗𝘳𝘦𝘧𝘦𝘳𝘢𝘣𝘭𝘺 𝘴𝘦𝘳𝘷𝘦 𝘸𝘪𝘵𝘩 𝘺𝘰𝘨𝘶𝘳𝘵, 𝘮𝘪𝘭𝘬/𝘤𝘩𝘰𝘤𝘰𝘭𝘢𝘵𝘦 𝘮𝘪𝘭𝘬 𝘰𝘳 𝘤𝘰𝘵𝘵𝘢𝘨𝘦 𝘤𝘩𝘦𝘦𝘴𝘦 𝘧𝘰𝘳 𝘦𝘹𝘵𝘳𝘢 𝘱𝘳𝘰𝘵𝘦𝘪𝘯. This works well for lunch or breakfast, or even dinner in a pinch. There is no cooking involved, and it's only 5 minutes of prep time. Of course, you can always make this fancy if you want: -Make it a dessert by drizzling chocolate over the top -Make it more low-calorie by using a peanut butter powder (like PB Fit) instead of regular peanut butter -Make it a more filling meal by including real peanuts (and maybe raisins) Our online fitness and nutrition program for busy families includes lots of easy, delicious meal ideas and recipes (for breakfast, lunch, dinner, even snacks) that even the pickiest eaters in your family will love. 🥪🍲 The program opens August 1st, and the first 5 families to rock this program will join at 50% off the normal rate! Are you ready to dish out some health and happiness in your kitchen? Let’s make every meal a step towards a healthier you! #RealFamilyNutrition #RealFamilyDiet #FamilyNutrition #FamilyFitness #ParentFitness #FamilyDiet

𝗣𝗮𝗿𝗲𝗻𝘁𝘀: want your family to be more healthy & active? As we've been discussing this week, it's important to find an exercise program: - that the whole family can do 𝘁𝗼𝗴𝗲𝘁𝗵𝗲𝗿 - that isn't 𝘣𝘰𝘳𝘪𝘯𝘨 - that you can perform 𝗳𝗿𝗼𝗺 𝗵𝗼𝗺𝗲, with minimal equipment Another very important consideration: that it addresses 𝗮𝗹𝗹 aspects of fitness! Most programs emphasize strength, but don't address cardio (𝘦𝘹𝘱𝘦𝘤𝘵𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘺𝘰𝘶 𝘵𝘰 𝘨𝘰 𝘰𝘶𝘵 𝘢𝘯𝘥 𝘳𝘶𝘯 𝘰𝘯 𝘺𝘰𝘶𝘳 𝘰𝘸𝘯. 𝘏𝘰𝘸 𝘢𝘳𝘦 𝘺𝘰𝘶 𝘴𝘶𝘱𝘱𝘰𝘴𝘦𝘥 𝘵𝘰 𝘥𝘰 𝘵𝘩𝘢𝘵 𝘸𝘪𝘵𝘩 𝘴𝘮𝘢𝘭𝘭 𝘬𝘪𝘥𝘴 𝘢𝘵 𝘩𝘰𝘮𝘦?) But there are many other important physical qualities to work on besides strength and cardio: - mobility - flexibility - balance - coordination - speed/power Especially for kids, we don't want to build only strength, for example. Developing bodies need a good mix of 𝗮𝗹𝗹 physical attributes. How can you possibly know that you're addressing all of these traits? Our new online at-home fitness and nutrition program for busy families starts August 1st. And the lucky first 5 families to participate will rock the program for 𝟱𝟶% 𝗼𝗳𝗳 the normal price! 𝗣𝗮𝗿𝗲𝗻𝘁𝘀: want your family to be more healthy & active? Yesterday we discussed the importance of making exercise less boring, so your family will stick with it (especially the kids). Another vitally important factor is being able to do the exercises from home, with no equipment (or minimal equipment). That way you don't have to go to a gym (𝘺𝘰𝘶𝘳 𝘸𝘩𝘰𝘭𝘦 𝘸𝘰𝘳𝘬𝘰𝘶𝘵 𝘤𝘰𝘶𝘭𝘥 𝘣𝘦 𝙙𝙤𝙣𝙚 𝘢𝘵 𝘩𝘰𝘮𝘦 𝘪𝘯 𝘫𝘶𝘴𝘵 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘵𝘪𝘮𝘦 𝘪𝘵 𝘵𝘢𝘬𝘦𝘴 𝘵𝘰 𝘥𝘳𝘪𝘷𝘦 𝘣𝘢𝘤𝘬 & 𝘧𝘰𝘳𝘵𝘩 𝘵𝘰 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘨𝘺𝘮) or buy a bunch of equipment (𝘵𝘢𝘬𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘶𝘱 𝘢 𝘸𝘩𝘰𝘭𝘦 𝘳𝘰𝘰𝘮 𝘰𝘧 𝘺𝘰𝘶𝘳 𝘩𝘰𝘶𝘴𝘦) and allowing you to do the workouts at whatever the best times and days are for 𝘆𝗼𝘂𝗿 family! But 𝘸𝘩𝘢𝘵 exercises should you do? How often? How many times? What if those exercises are too hard? Or too easy? Or just too boring for the kids? What would you do then? Fear not, our new online at-home fitness and nutrition program for busy families starts August 1st! And the first 5 lucky families to participate will rock the program at 𝟱𝟶% 𝗼𝗳𝗳! 𝗣𝗮𝗿𝗲𝗻𝘁𝘀: trying to get your family to be more healthy & active? Then using an exercise program that the whole family can do together is 𝘃𝗶𝘁𝗮𝗹. But we also must avoid those dreaded words: "𝘛𝘩𝘪𝘴 𝘪𝘴 𝙗𝙤𝙧𝙞𝙣𝙜." Kids have even shorter attention spans than we do. So if an exercise program is boring to them - just a bunch of push-ups and sit-ups, for example - good luck getting the kids to stick with it for more than 1 or 2 workouts. (𝘔𝘢𝘬𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘵𝘩𝘪𝘯𝘨𝘴 𝘦𝘷𝘦𝘯 𝘸𝘰𝘳𝘴𝘦, 𝘣𝘦𝘤𝘢𝘶𝘴𝘦 𝘵𝘩𝘢𝘵 𝘫𝘶𝘴𝘵 𝘳𝘦𝘪𝘯𝘧𝘰𝘳𝘤𝘦𝘴 𝘵𝘩𝘦𝘪𝘳 𝘣𝘦𝘭𝘪𝘦𝘧 𝘵𝘩𝘢𝘵 𝘦𝘹𝘦𝘳𝘤𝘪𝘴𝘦 𝘪𝘴 𝘣𝘰𝘳𝘪𝘯𝘨, 𝘮𝘢𝘬𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘪𝘵 𝘦𝘷𝘦𝘯 𝘩𝘢𝘳𝘥𝘦𝘳 𝘵𝘰 𝘨𝘦𝘵 𝘵𝘩𝘦𝘮 𝘵𝘰 𝘵𝘳𝘺 𝘪𝘵 𝘯𝘦𝘹𝘵 𝘵𝘪𝘮𝘦) But what if you could find an exercise program that held their - and your - interest? That was almost, kind of 𝘧𝘶𝘯? The whole family would enjoy the workouts enough to consistently do them. And if everyone keeps working out, then everyone gets stronger, moves better and gets healthier! Our new online at-home family fitness & nutrition program starts August 1st. And the first 5 lucky families to rock the program will participate for 𝟱𝟶% 𝗼𝗳𝗳! Message us or comment below for more info 💪 #FamilyFitness #ParentFitness #HomeWorkout #ResistanceTraining

𝗣𝗮𝗿𝗲𝗻𝘁𝘀: trying to get your family to be more healthy & active? Then what do you think is the most important factor for you in an exercise plan? ... That it's something the whole family can do 𝙩𝙤𝙜𝙚𝙩𝙝𝙚𝙧! That way there is no need for babysitters so the parents can go to the gym or for the parents to take turns going. (𝘞𝘩𝘰𝘴𝘦 𝘵𝘶𝘳𝘯 𝘪𝘴 𝘪𝘵 𝘵𝘰 𝘸𝘰𝘳𝘬 𝘰𝘶𝘵 𝘵𝘰𝘥𝘢𝘺?) All while the kids sit on their butts at home, watching YouTube and playing video games. Plus, exercise can become a bonding experience for the whole family. 𝘛𝘩𝘰𝘴𝘦 𝘸𝘩𝘰 𝙨𝙬𝙚𝙖𝙩 𝘵𝘰𝘨𝘦𝘵𝘩𝘦𝘳, 𝙨𝙩𝙖𝙮 𝘵𝘰𝘨𝘦𝘵𝘩𝘦𝘳! What do you think? Does this sound like a good idea? (Get 𝘮𝘺 kids to work out? 𝘠𝘦𝘢𝘩, 𝘳𝘪𝘨𝘩𝘵. Might as well herd some cats.) With our new at-home fitness and nutrition program for busy families, it's not only doable, success is guaranteed! The program starts August 1st, and the first 5 families will rock the program at 𝟱𝟶% 𝗼𝗳𝗳 the normal price!
