🏡 Australian Home Price Growth Slows 🏡 An indication that the heat may be coming off the housing market. House prices across combined capitals rose for the sixth consecutive quarter, maintaining a consistent pace with the previous quarter, but slowing compared to the 2023 quarterly gains. Unit price growth decelerated significantly, with the weakest quarterly outcome since early 2023, growing at a rate four times slower than the previous quarter. This has led to a slowdown in annual gains for the first time this growth cycle for both combined capital house and unit prices. This morning, we partnered with NORA ~ National Online Retailers Association to kick-off the Online Retailer 2 day conference with a Leadership Summit breakfast. Joined by industry leaders, we had a great discussion about maximising business performance through data-driven property insights. Domain’s June Quarter Rent Report indicates that renters are finally seeing some relief, with most major cities experiencing rent prices either declining, increasing at a slower pace, or stopping rising altogether. Most capital cities are also seeing higher vacancy rates annually, suggesting rental conditions are shifting to alleviate rental pressures and slow the growth of rental prices. Experts predict that more tenant relief will occur in FY25. For the full report, see below.
