DYK that Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) can simulate the airflow around an aircraft, the thermal efficiency of an EV motor, or even the fluid flow within the human body? CFD is essential for analyzing and predicting how fluids behave in real-world applications where physical testing may be too expensive or difficult to conduct. Applications include: Aerospace and Defense ✈️ Automotive 🚗 New Energy 🔋 Healthcare 💊 By leveraging #CFD, engineers can analyze, understand, and predict the fluids that make up nearly every part of our world. Learn how CFD works, its benefits, and how it’s transforming modern engineering!

In the fast-paced world of automotive design, speed and precision are key. Traditional methods like wind tunnel tests and CFD calculations can take hours or even weeks. With Ansys SimAI, we’ve reduced that to minutes. In the latest video in our SimAI in Action series, Yann Ravel, Principal Application Engineering at Ansys, reveals how SimAI: - Achieved aerodynamic predictions with less than 0.5% drag error - Delivered CFD predictions for drag results in about 1 minute - Reduced validation time from weeks to minutes SimAI enables faster design exploration, higher accuracy, and unlocks greater creativity in automotive engineering by allowing designers to test more variations faster. DYK that Ansys is contributing $250,000 toward funded curriculum proposals? A recipient of the first open call, the University of Lagos (UNILAG) in Nigeria was awarded a grant to support the integration of Ansys simulation into engineering courses centered around computational fluid dynamics. Thanks to that funding, about 1,000 students across three undergraduate engineering courses gained hands-on simulation experience during the 2023-2024 academic year. The courses will continue to provide value as new students enter the program each year. “Teaching with Ansys Fluent software will give the students mastery in CFD tools, which will make them competitive for the local and international job market, postgraduate studies, and product design innovation.” — Olabode Thomas Olakoyejo, Ph.D., senior lecturer, University of Lagos Learn more about how the Ansys Academic Program's funded curriculum opportunity has benefited students at UNILAG and how to submit a proposal for the 2025-2026 academic year.
