AMD strongly supports the Semiconductor Technology Advancement and Research (STAR) Act aimed at increasing R&D for the US semiconductor industry. This legislation is a crucial investment in the future, enabling accelerated innovation, enhanced global competitiveness, and high-quality jobs. #Innovation #Semiconductors #R&D #USCompetitiveness #AMD
SIA commends the introduction of the bipartisan Semiconductor Technology Advancement and Research (STAR) Act, which would expand the #CHIPSAct investment tax credit to include expenses for #semiconductor design. Robust U.S. semiconductor design is essential if we are to continue to be a leader in semiconductor innovation, and it powers our ability to develop technologies like AI, 5G communications, robotics, autonomous vehicles, and more. In a time when global competitors are investing heavily into this sector, we need to build on our successes to strengthen America’s economy, national security, and technology leadership. We thank Reps. Blake Moore (R-UT), Michael McCaul (R-TX), Doris Matsui (D-CA), Suzan DelBene (D-WA), John Moolenaar (R-MI), Raja Krishnamoorthi (D-IL), Ro Khanna (D-CA), Joe Morelle (D-NY), and Claudia Tenney (R-NY) for their work on this important bill.
