Alantra is pleased to announce it has advised JOHN WOOD GROUP P.L.C. and Siemens Energy on the sale of EthosEnergy, a global independent service provider for rotating equipment formed in 2014 as a joint venture between John Wood Group and Siemens Energy, to One Equity Partners, a middle market private equity firm with c. $10bn in assets under management. This transaction marks a significant milestone for Alantra in the Industrials sector, underscoring our deep industry expertise and our access to key buyers. Richard Holden, Partner at Alantra and head of business services, was quoted in a recent Financial Times article discussing the reported interest of several private equity firms in acquiring a stake in Grant Thornton UK LLP’s operations. Richard pointed out that such a transaction would be “quite an important milestone because in the UK, in that area of the market which is the large, enterprise clients, there hasn’t been a deal yet.” Private equity involvement in the UK accounting sector is less prevalent than in the U.S., where accounting firms are typically larger. However, interest in this sector has been gaining momentum in the UK, particularly among smaller firms.
