You’re considering entrepreneurship. How do you know if it’s the right path for you?

Being an entrepreneur means you're on a mission to solve a problem. But not just any problem—it's got to be something specific that a lot of people care about. Understand who you're helping, figure out what's bugging them, and then see if your business idea can make their lives better. If you can say "Yes" to all of that, you're on the right path.

The problem you are solving must be a intense need desire problem. Entrepreneurship has to be calculative in every way possible. So Start doing it from the very beginning, even from the stage of ideation.

Effective problem identification is paramount to innovation, regardless of whether the solution is a widely applicable service or a long-term product. The timeliness and decisiveness with which a need is recognized significantly impacts the potential for success.

I come from a perspective of first hand and 3rd person experiences. So I definitely haven't read any books to say this - but there are 3 things for an entrepreneur to identify: 1) A problem (heavy emphasis on 'A' problem and not a cluster or a group of problem) 2) A solution to THE problem 3) And someone willing to pay for the problem you are solving. But your journey is far from complete after figureing out these 3 factors. There are layers you will have to peel off after these 3 steps to make a business. However, I have seen that answering these 3 questions will set a right foundation for whatever your wish to build moving ahead.

To consider going into an entrepreneurial endeavor, we need to check if our offering brought to the targeted audience is answering a need that is valued withing this target. It doesn't need to be a unique offering. it has just to provide a value proposition that has not already been met, or at least has not been served enough. We have to ensure that the targeted consumer can clearly feel the difference in how we are tackling the pain points that he is facing.

Passion alone is nonsense. In entrepreneurship as in life it is discipline what gets you through. It gives you grit. Passion keeps you curious and interested in what will ultimately become an impactful solution but in the end investors are not (just) looking for passionate entrepreneurs but founders that demonstrate the discipline within the method of getting from ideas to a working solution. Passion can be persuasive but discipline will get you through validations that will ultimately give market and financial value. Communication with passion is good but passionately communicating about facts and figures is what gets investors rolling. Passion is about what you value. That’s ok but not great. Passionate enough to take Himalayan goodness to over 40 countries, and open over 6 countries as first Indian company to export in the industry. Journey wasn't easy, but seeing thousands of villagers happy in the hills enjoying livelihood that Dogsee ecosystem created is very fulfilling. So is seeing million of dogs having healthy and natural treats globally on a monthly basis.

Entrepreneurship is a long-term commitment that demands passion, energy, and resources. To ensure success, reflect on your motivations, evaluate your strengths and weaknesses, assess values alignment, consider long-term goals, seek feedback, and be open to pivoting. Stay true to your passions and values to build a business that brings fulfillment and joy.

What is the story behind that idea? How is the story of this business an extension of your personality, an extension of your passion or an extension of your pain, there has to be something personal that's what creates the soul in that idea. People don't buy products or services, they buy the soul story of a business. People buy a Nike because they buy the soul story of just doing it. People eat a McDonald's not because it serves the best burger, because they buy the story of happiness. People don't drink coca-cola because it is tasty, they buy a bottle of happiness. How is it an extension of your passion that influences how big your business idea will grow. So you must need to have a strong soul story in that business idea.

Passion is ok at some instance and also if you are not .. but conviction is more crucial than passion. Because every problem may not be your passion, but conviction in the solution you can provide to that problem can build business - only passion can build a castle but not the kingdom or an empire

You must have the competence. Because at the end of the day if you don't have the skills, if you don't have the knowledge, if you don't have the expertise and you just go behind an opportunity just because one exists, let me tell you something somebody else will walk into that industry and wipe you out because they may have the skills knowledge required for that particular industry. So is it in alignment with your capabilities? Do you have the competence to execute that idea? Do you have the expertise in that line of product or service? Because if you don't, your journey won't last long.

I have an amazing team who are among the best in the industry in their respective domains. I also have a healthy board and group of shareholders (investors, friends and family), who is equally committed to this journey of spreading goodness and natural living as I am. I couldn't ask for more.

Networking. An aspiring CEO or founder must have networking and social skills. It’s first and foremost responsibility is securing existing and new business. Yes you can do business development, inbound and outbound but if you do not connect and network you’ll be missing out on opportunities for exponentially build traction with partnerships, alliances and expand your reach. Leave everything else or delegate it. Focus on building networks and always overdeliver.

Oh boy! This will be a wild ride full of exhilarating moments of glory. And then counterpointed with gut wrenching agony. In startups these go hand in hand. You need to hold on and keep on. You have to be agile, resourceful, and most importantly alert and aware of the dynamic nature of your product and business. You can hire everything, but one key factor has to be your own.

Most Important is that you must Have a liking and Passion for the Business you are getting into. You need to have Some Command over the Subject and Must be willing to learn Extensively. You should have a risk-taking Ability regarding your Convictions. If you don't believe in what you are doing, why will others believe? about the business, it is important to ask yourself, will it solve people's needs? is there already a Solution for it? is there some more value in My solution, and for how long will my solution be relevant?
