In my six-plus years as a career coach and founder of a career platform, I've learned the importance of guiding clients toward achievable goals. Here's how I approach this: 1. Clarify the Dream: Help clients articulate their vision, turning abstract dreams into aspirations. 2. Map the Path: Break down the big picture into manageable milestones to maintain motivation and track progress. 3. Leverage Mentorship: Connect with mentors for insights, guidance, and networking opportunities. 4. Skill Development: Identify and acquire the necessary skills for their chosen path. 5. Build Resilience: Prepare for setbacks and foster a growth mindset. 6. Continuous Feedback: Ensure regular check-ins to stay on track and adjust plans as needed.

To guide clients toward achievable goals, help them break down their big dreams into smaller, actionable steps. I believe that the key element to achieving goals is the GROW model where the client can identify the Goal, Reality, opportunities, and what's next, adding to this the client needs to determine his/her values and purpose of achieving this goal to get aligned with his human system and become motivated into following the steps of the goal achieving,

One thing I have found helpful for clients is a needs based assessment considering skill gaps- and developing an action plan to address them as well as a reality check on the "gravity issues" or must haves whatever there choices are, ie income, location, personal time commitments etc. Important to consider how our realities impact our ability to achieve our dream goals!

A meta dela era de se tornar uma executiva na área Comercial. Ela já tinha algumas competências necessárias e precisaria desenvolver outras. A grande questão foi alinhar esse desejo dela com os objetivos da empresa. Resumindo, a empresa não estava disposta a ajudá-la a chegar lá ou criar essa nova posição. A well-defined vision with clarity and precision is paramount. Helping clients articulate their ultimate career goals, provides them with a motivational anchor, and also helps them align their daily tasks with long-term aspirations. This vision acts as a guiding star, ensuring they stay focused on continuous improvement, whether it's mastering complex tasks or leading a team.

While having a vision is needed, it takes time to understand and create. When helping someone to create their mission and vision, you want to explore their futuristic goal, passions, interests, and the audience they want to serve. Understand that one’s vision is one’s guiding star on those hard days and can be modified when needed.

Encourage them to define what success means to them and to reflect on their passions. One thing I found it helpful is to connect with emotion as well as your strength when setting milestones. True feelings create passion and motivation to pursue dreams. Strenght helps us focus on what we are most capable of to achieve goals. Coaching is powerful tools to help clients realize real feelings and inner strengths.

It's crucial to break down a grand career vision into manageable milestones. Collaborate with your clients to establish short-term, medium-term, and long-term goals that are Specific, Measurable, Achievable, Relevant, and Time-bound (SMART). These milestones serve as checkpoints on their journey towards their dream career, offering a clear sense of progress and achievement. Celebrating each milestone helps maintain momentum and keeps your clients motivated throughout their career development process.

Be aware that the way you organize yourself and your work speaks more about you, than your words. Command yourself an organized role and stablishing clear and achievable milestones, this is crucial for success. Break down your objective into manageable milestones which allow you to keep a constant sense of progress. Mark milestones as checkpoints. Celebrate any cleared checkpoint in the office, at home or solo; give yourself and your team the chance on sustaining momentum and motivation. By adopting this strategy, I ensure that clients and teams can advance with determination and strength, never losing sight of the critical details that differentiate success from failure.

Uma coisa que funciona por aqui, antes de estipular uma meta é compreender se ela realmente esta fazendo sentido com a realidade do profissional naquele momento, o uso do SMART ajuda muito. Pois podemos visualizar e confrontar os objetivos da seguinte maneira: Específicos (Specific): Objetivos claros e específicos? Mensuráveis (Measurable): Quais critérios para medir o progresso? Atingíveis (Achievable): Os objetivos são realistas e alcançáveis? Relevantes (Relevant): São relevantes para sua carreira? Com base nisso, ja temos um passo feito para pode criar um PDI por exemplos, com respostas mais coerentes com a sua realidade e anseios do profissional.

O desenvolvimento de novas competências é uma condição crucial para quem quer desenvolver sua carreira. Adaptabilidade, flexibilidade, visão sistêmica são exemplos de algumas competências demandadas no contexto atual de trabalho e o primeiro passo para desenvolvê-las é ampliar o autoconhecimento a partir da identificação do seu perfil comportamental. Estruturar um plano de carreira é como buscar mensurar o esforço que será necessário para alcançar um grande objetivo e para isso, é importante der consciência de que as mudanças acontecem no meio do caminho e por isso, quanto mais conectados o plano de carreira e os objetivos profissionais foram com os valores da pessoa, maior a chance dos problemas que surgirem no meio do caminho não impeçam que se continua seguindo em frente com persistência e resiliência para que seu objetivo de vida seja a prioridade durante sua jornada.

Stoicism teaches individuals to focus on what they can control and accept what they cannot, fostering a calm and collected approach to challenges. In today's digital age, a strong personal brand can significantly impact career advancement. Guide your clients in developing and maintaining a consistent professional image across various platforms. This includes crafting a compelling LinkedIn profile, sharing industry insights on social media, and potentially starting a blog or podcast in their area of expertise. Best to encourage them to showcase their unique skills, experiences, and perspectives. A well-cultivated personal brand can attract opportunities, establish credibility, and set them apart in a competitive job market.

Career goals are attached to some kind of value we are seeking out of it. It is important to understand those and then keep stringing to that. Building goals with right emotions is important. Some emotions might not be required so get rid of them. To elate the steps: 1. Envisioning 2. Build a board game to step forward 3. Scale and create milestones 4. Build habit of appreciating small wins 5. Learn to review plans and adjust accordingly 6. Never give up so stay in motion 7. Repeat

One more thing to consider is the whole picture. That's why part of achieving these big career dreams is to determine what would you consider as success in all parts of life and in different period of times. You cannot know everything ahead of time but you certainly can have a general picture of what is important for you and thus have a wider perspective on what will enable you not to be frustrated or stuck in all other parts of your life. In short: Take all that is important to you in consideration and not only the big dreams themselves

The biggest element in achieving any goal is identifying the steps to get there and setting measurements to so you know that you’re progressing. Creating a career plan will help ground anyone into the work that is needed whether thru education level, a training program or position advancement. It is not our job as career professionals to determine what is realistic for a client but to help them self assess their abilities and critically think through what it will take for them to reach their career objective.

Focus, adaptability, and attention to detail. Maintain persistence, keep your goal in sight, and evolve. Reaching from point A to B in a straight line is challenging; enjoy the journey. Surround yourself with people who adapt to your needs and help you adapt. Stay strong yet flexible. Never lose sight of the details; develop skills to perceive even the slightest changes. Retain lightness but always advance with determination and strength.
