How can you use team feedback to enhance your career development?

One thing I have found helpful is to have the basket of decisions on feedback readily available for quick reference when now interacting with the team. In that way it improves on team trust and confidence in the systems in place designed to give their input with regards continual provement. Where certain feedback is not taken for whatever reason, it helps to demonstrate why, not give reasons, the status quo is preferred.

Growth requires reflection on criticism. Not simply getting comments, but understanding their meaning. Analyze feedback, recognizing its positive and constructive parts. Celebrate successes and review areas for growth. We need self-awareness to adapt, improve, and succeed in our jobs. Introspection should be ongoing, supporting personal and professional growth. Reflecting on feedback is an active commitment to improvement and excellence.

Returning the respect you have for feedback with expressed gratitude along with acting on the feedback and reporting the result builds superior mutual respect. It's like being a spotter on a trampoline keeping those taking risks safe and successful in their landing. When highly analytical people team with creatives and process people team with action oriented people and value which each bring to team performance synergy results.

Feedback is only valuable when its acted on. To act on the feedback successfully, start by Specifically identifying the Measurable, Achievable and Relevant goals and ensure there are Time-based parameters around completion. This SMART approach leads to easier and greater success because real, clearly defined objects exist.

Sometimes there is feedback that stretches the bounderies and not easy to understand. There is no harm in requesting for further specific input.

Sending a thank you can be a great way to offer feedback and to showcase the impact of the work to a larger audience. To nurture collaboration within my organization, I call out specific actions and the impact of those actions to achieve my team's goals in a thank you message to other managers, directors and their VPs, at year end.

In a feedback culture, accept team input as a two-way street for professional progress. Accept constructive feedback and use it to improve abilities and attain career goals. Make it safe for team members to give feedback, encourage regular talks, and recognize feedback-driven improvements. Value and create a feedback culture to enhance your career and build a collaborative, growth-oriented team.

It's important to tailor your communication to the stakeholders' preferences. For example, if majority of your stakeholders prefer informal communication, then keeping them updated in an informal way (such as a group chat) may be more beneficial than sending them a formal presentation. However, this does not mean that you shouldn't have formal documentation available for feedback actions/results.

1. Regardless of the type of feedback received (positive or negative), just be open to accept it. This is because every piece of feedback is a gift. The feedback provider took time and energy to provide the feedback and that's usually a sign that he/she cares. 2. Sometimes, we need a bit more clarification to what was written. It's perfectly acceptable to ask the feedback provider for more details (assuming you know who the provider is that is).

In demanding settings driven by results and profit, working in a team can be very stressful. Even more so for facilitators of teams in highly complex and demanding areas. Therefore, addressing mental health issues must be prioritized in such cases.
