Die Herausforderung ist, zu vergessen, wie das System oder die Funktion eigentlich hätte bedient werden müssen. Hier kann Generative KI helfen, Testfälle zu erstellen, die näher an der produktiven Nutzung der Software sind und somit auch mehr seltene Randfälle abfangen können. Auch im Hinblick auf die Menge an Testfällen kann Generative KI eine Unterstützung sein, um eine größere Bandbreite an Eingaben abzudecken.

Um bei automatisierten Tests davon profitieren zu können, sollten die Tests möglichst immer minimal im Design und parallel in der Ausführung geschaffen werden. Fällt nun ein Fehler an, werden die Entwickelnden über die CI-Pipeline schneller darüber benachrichtigt als bei manueller, sporadischer Testausführung. Die CI schützt hier vor dem Vergessen eines Testdurchlaufs, was die Fehlersuche drastisch vereinfachen kann. Damit dies funktioniert sollte die CI aber auch so implementiert werden, dass sie genügend oft ausgelöst wird. Dies kann unter Umständen auch eine Anpassung der Entwicklungsstrategie erfordern (Commit-Größe).

Ferner sollten regelmäßige Sicherheitsupdates veröffentlicht werden, um Aktualisierungen der Dependency Libraries gerecht zu werden, die unter anderem ihrerseits Sicherheitsupdates enthalten.
