Here's how you can meet presentation deadlines without a hitch.

It's requires careful planning ahead. Start by breaking down the project into smaller tasks and setting clear deadlines for each. Create a detailed timeline, allowing extra time for unexpected delays. Gather all necessary materials and resources early on, and begin preparing our content well in advance. Practice our presentation multiple times to ensure smooth delivery. Regularly check our progress against timeline and make adjustments as needed. By staying organized and proactive, We can complete our presentation on time and with confidence.

What I have found helpful is making a list of all the tasks needed to complete a presentation, big and small. These do not need to be in any particular order at first since I go back a group them under main subheading. Once I have that down I use backwards planning and create deadlines from there.

The best way to beat the presentation deadlines is to follow the Pareto's principle. What it essentially means is to first divide your entire task into chunks. The next step is to identify which of these chunks are the most crucial to the completion of the task. For eg, for a car to run, the most important thing is that the mechanics is working. The cosmetic effects like the color and accessories, though important, are secondary and do not influence how the car performs. Remember that focussing on the 20 percent of tasks can yield up to 80 percent of results. Cheers🥂

There are a plethora of tool out there that help in with task management and design. For instance Microsoft Office has a Planner app that can be shared with your team and tasks can be assigned to individuals or groups of people. If you work for a larger company explore what is already available to you, yes there may be something better out there but the pitch of gaining access to that software may have to wait for a future project. I also never go into a project wanting to “reinvent the wheel” if someone has already done some of the leg work I run with that, even if it’s just a rough outline.

Rehearsing should be a nonnegotiable when working on a presentation. There should never be a time you don’t rehearse, even if you’ve given the presentation a million times, something has always changed or evolved. Ask peers to be a test audience, record yourself and watch it back, making notes as you go. For each slide in a deck I like to create dialogue in the notes section to give myself an idea of what to say. I may not always follow word for work, but I have ideas to refer to when starting conversation.

It’s physically impossible that two individuals would have an identical reaction to a given stimulus. Practicing in front of any audience could point your attention to that little misplaced point that you missed practicing countless times alone. These priceless suggestions are key to perfect the presentation and more importantly save time looking for errors on your own.
