The more data you have the more you need to analyse it. If you are analysing it in wrong way,you may end up increasing your problem.But if you are able to write your problem and arrange it properly then there is a high chance that you can solve it. Solving bigger problem means distribution of the problem into sub problems after analysing it and then trying to fix each one.

Data is literally everywhere and in many forms. Understanding and knowing data is like a foundation when analysis comes in to picture for problem solving capabilities. Excel. sQL, Python, R or Data visualization and Business Intelligence tools can be a playground enhance these skills.
