Lifelong Learning is an approach to learning -whether in personal or professional contexts-that is continuous and self-motivated. A Lifelong Learner is a person who continues to learn new skills and competencies long after they have completed their formal education. Example of Lifelong Learning: In childhood we learn to talk or ride a bike. As an adult, we learn how to use a smartphone or learn how to cook a new dish. Develop a Lifelong Learning: 1. Recognize that you already have the traits of a lifelong learner 2. Take a careful inventory of yourself 3. Embrace a growth mindset 4. Be curious 5. Get comfortable with being uncomfortable 6. Read 7. Know that physical health is mental health

Undergoing certification processes endorsed Coaching bodies, which require coaching standards to be upheld, add a recognizable badge of credibility further affirm your legitimacy as a coach.

Certifications matter greatly as a life coach because they validate my expertise and commitment to professional standards. They ensure that I am equipped with the latest tools and techniques to effectively guide clients. Certified training not only enhances my credibility but also provides clients with confidence in the quality and integrity of the coaching they receive.

Networking events can strike fear into many people's hearts. If we reframe our mindset about networking events and see them as learning opportunities where we get to meet people and learn from those who have been in the field for a long time, the fear may lessen. Everyone likes to learn something, and learning from another human being is more engaging than learning from Zoom. So let go of your fear, see it as a Learning Event, and you may actually enjoy your next Networking Event.

Mentorship programs can be a good platform to learn more about the Art and Practice of Coaching. I signed up for a Mentorship program where I will be the Mentor, and part of the Benefits of signing up as a Mentor is that I get access to a Networking (Learning) event and learn from Trainers hired to upskill the Mentor. Additional learning programmes in the area of coaching you specialize in are a great way to bolster your credibility as a coach. But also reading books by Subject Matter Experts on various coaching themes from attachment theory, mind and ego effects, to studying tools for solutions help your depth as a coach.

In my previous counselling practice, I was asked to gather feedback from my clients. Initially, I felt that asking for feedback was very "annoying" and "disruptive" to our counselling flow. However, I find that asking for Feedback becomes natural and easy over time. My clients look forward to sharing their feedback with me and asking me about it if I don't ask them. Feedback is not just a form of open communication with our clients, but a valuable opportunity for growth and learning. It's a positive experience that benefits both us and our clients.
