The vertical line signifies your specialization, which can vary in thickness and height based on your and your studio's working style. For example, if you excel at both visualization and modeling, your primary specialization could be visualization, with modeling as secondary. Your vertical is what you do differently and faster than others and what you find most enjoyable. It's like finding your ikigai.

As an industrial designer, we are fundamentally trained in the principles of design rather than focusing on designing a specific product group. I believe this is an incredibly valuable aspect of our profession. From the moment we start our careers, the circumstances may push each of us towards different product categories, but knowing how to design a product at its core is a significant advantage. In my opinion, an industrial designer should not restrict themselves to specific areas from the very beginning. Instead, they should explore as widely as possible to broaden their horizons. This approach allows you to view the products you want to design from very different perspectives and experiences.
