Teach them the value of using TRIZ and show them a real life example that will demonstrate creativity. Example. Russians wanted to go to the moon in the early 1970s. They built a lander with a mechanical arm & lighting system. When they tested the craft the lighting system failed because the engine vibration. They tried everything like making the glass around the bulb thicker. Nothing worked until they had a TRIZ expert come in. He went to a chalk board, drew a line down the middle. On one side he drew a bulb, on the other side the Moon. He went to the features of the bulb including why the glass covered the filament. Then said where are you going? The moon which is a vacuum so why do you need the glass?
