We need to clearly know and articulate our needs to supplier and also involve them in the initial stages of the project which would help us maintain and keep up to the lead times..most importantly if we map the vendor supply chain and their ways of procurement which includes the process of manufacturing then it would be easy to appreciate their lead times and help us crunch where ever it possible with mutual understanding

Preferred Suppliers: Identify and work closely with preferred suppliers who consistently meet your quality and delivery requirements. 2. Supply Chain Visibility Real-Time Tracking: Use supply chain management software to gain real-time visibility into the status of orders and shipments. Transparent Communication: Maintain open lines of communication with suppliers to quickly address any issues that may arise. 3. Inventory Management Just-in-Time (JIT) Inventory: Implement JIT inventory systems to reduce excess stock and ensure materials are available when needed.

Understanding the root causes of the lead time challenges is crucial for effective optimization. The common areas to explore could be supplier-related or internal processes. However standardization, continuous improvement and leverage technology are the most effective actions to be taken.

SRM, Synergy action plans with Supply Chain and Procurement, implement programs to assure stock without influence negatively in FCF ie VMI, VS/CS, track of Kpi’s Such as OTD, OTIF, engagement with suppliers and immediate communication & collaboration with stakeholders. Track main drivers & global situations that may affect provision/ production to predict contraints, reconsider level of stocks due those circumstances. Etc

There are several ways to streamline lead time in supplier sourcing. One of the ways we use and is effective was by conducting a robust Lead time analysis. It help us in identifying and correcting bottlencks and other inefficiencies. It also help in identifying and elimination of unreliable suppliers. It aid us in understanding the need to improve communication with our internal and external customers. We identify when to place bulk orders and small but frequent orders in terms of expediting shipments in relation to inventory turnover and its carrying cost. It also help us to realize the need to use of local of local suppliers over foreign ones where necessary. It also play a key role in automation of our procurement process.

We need to know the item which we purchase along with the process of their manufacturing..Visit as many as suppliers and freeze the method and process along with material that goes into manufacture along from their location of their sources..this will help to identify the right vendor and assess their practical lead times..the lead also to oversee the mode of transport to our manufacturing facility..

Based of historical data of suppliers who are top services in timely delivery and price and cost effective. Closely monitor lead time and negotiate the terms with suppliers on lead time without compromising on prices and review the payment terms.

No need to get a lot of several suppliers,we must just establish a good list of suppliers on whom we have long term collaboration and good working state between us

Having good relationship with our suppliers is good for business,establish a good relationship is better for working mode. Doing this will make good collaboration

Situation analysis to capture potential risks, prepare the risk log, articulate mitigation measures and regularly update the risk log

I would say - Assess the needs in terms of quality, quantity and target deliveries and convey specifics in simple language to suppliers. - Communicate clearly and effectively with prospective and potential suppliers reducing the chances of misinterpretations which may otherwise lead to delays. - Detect inefficiencies and improve workflow processes by automation and applying lean principles/foundations. - Periodically update supplier roster. - Involve and prioritise local suppliers. Establish working groups with suppliers during forecasting, to know market availability of the requirement interms of Supply and demand shifts.

Improve your internal process by fostering collaboration between procurement, production, and other relevant departments to ensure smooth and timely sourcing. Analyze and map out your current procurement processes to identify and eliminate bottlenecks.
