As someone who went from being an employee to a self-employed life coach 10 years ago, coach training was the first step in the process. It's important to learn the industry standards, ethics and competencies to deliver a stellar coaching experience to those you intend to serve. Coaching is not just about coaching skills but about developing yourself as a Coach, developing your ability to deliver the whole coaching process and developing the coaching profession itself. Though anyone can call themselves a Coach, not everyone can say that they have participated in a rigorous process of coach education, mentorship, performance evaluation, coaching experience hours and an exam. When looking for a qualified Coach, be sure to ask about training.

I couldn't agree more with this perspective . Having been certified myself, by ICF ( Erickson Coaching International ) way back in 2017 , i had immense confidence after the coach - coachee sessions that I had it in me to go in for full time coaching. However , I already had a full time Government job and did not want to leave my familiar moorings. Thanks to Gaurav Arora , the coaching session was a very stimulating and unique experience at the ' Club'. It changed my family life. The 'Wheel of life' was an amazing aid to take bold decisions and my husband took the plunge. Left the earlier job & took a new assignment with a better package , better title and a greater work environment. So,certified coaches are equipped with scientific tools.

I agree, there are a number offering a Coaching service however, Certification demonstrates the qualified skill mix of the individual

Many so called life coaches which was something I wanted to stay away from. I have found a certified course offering accreditation so I can be recognised as a life coach who did some work rather than calling myself a life coach because of my life experiences. Not accredited yet - hopefully soon.
