Here's how you can maintain quality control in automotive manufacturing projects from start to finish.

You must know as to what Customer expects from you. Product must meet Customer expectations, delivered in time and reasonable priced. You must forsee possible failures in each step and try to check & control them before hand. You must do each work correct first time. Define SOP clearly and standards to measure & check. Repeatedly checking of work and correction costs and increases price. Improve SOP by finding shortcomings during working. Keep all levels working staff involved as they know better as per their working experience.Check environment, tools, working personnel, materials and methods are capable of performing the task, keep updating each & every staff by training and improving the culture. Do responsible sourcing.

Although I don't work in the industry directly, I would like to express my opinions. 1. Ensuring that each department is operating properly through its regular audits. 2. QAPs and the quality policy need to be very explicit. 3. Continuous improvement programs should be implemented.

I've not directly worked in Automobile sector, but would like to share my views 1. Quality policy & QAPs must be crystal clear 2. Coming to supply chain, since automobile requires a lot of bought out only reliable I repeat reliable suppliers to be evaluated rather than L1. 3. Assembly check points must multifold stringent test to conducted at each stage. 4. Even if its part welding robotic welding & advance technologies must be preferred rather than manual thus directly mitigating chances of defects. 5. Continuous improvement initiatives to be instilled. 6. Comprehensive training must be adopted to enhance skills and seeking improved quality. 7. Auditing at regular intervals to ensure functions of each department.

It's a process to ensure the conformity of products at different stages of manufacturing, it includes 1. Incoming Quality: Ensuring the right material is procured and used after tested. 2. Inprocess and Inward Quality : Ensuring the product is confirming to the print requirements at each stages of manufacturing against the respective process Control plan/QAP , which included both BP and IP characteristics and outsourced process as well. 4. Final Quality : It's a process where the inspector inspect the parts for customer drawing requirements and against the QAP if any to ensure parts meets to all requirements of contract. 5. Layout inspection: Periodic conformation of parts to final customer print after FI stage.

Build Proper Processes. Keep a Clean Workspace. Hold Unscheduled Equipment Use Tests. Identify Essential Spare Parts. Ensure Managers Are Properly Trained.

Planning includes A robust control plan in any manufacturing industries will be the key input for QC process as it includes , process name , process parameter against the characteristics,classification of characteristic, inspection method, frequency and reaction plan. First PFC shoud be defined , PFMEA to be derived to identify the failure modes against that a strong control plan to be prepared to control the characteristics at each stages of manufacturing. The unbiased inspection against the control plan is key to success in delivering defect free parts to end customers which inturn gives safe product for an end user.

The strategy of training and stage wise up skill of Quality and production team members is key step for success in delivering quality products to customer ontime and every time. It includes Induction training, on job training, theoretical exams , practical demonstration and observation and training on Quality System is the key sucees to achieve long-term goals in the industries.

Absolutely, navigating through turbulent times like wars and economic sanctions can severely disrupt the supply chain and manufacturing processes. Ensuring quality control becomes paramount in such situations to maintain product standards and customer satisfaction. It's crucial to maintain a structured sequence of quality events to mitigate risks and minimize the cost of poor quality, which ultimately affects the product's price competitiveness and sales performance.
