And resource allocation is an important part of it. Cost estimation and schedule preparation shall be done with a high degree of accuracy. The project shall have a well-defined and clear scope of work. I believe project management requires problem solving and an ability to clear roadblocks quickly. Another very important part of complex projects is interface management. This function is often not given due attention and leads to very difficult situations. A lot of work goes into getting the right resources. The expectations shall be clear from the start from all parties and stake holders.

There is no substitute for detailed logic planning for project execution. Pert Chart ahead of Gantt Chart, or logic before duration is a critical differentiating aspect of planning. There is always an overarching, defined set of critical logic and tasks to achieve milestone objectives. This approach to planning is often underrated but is the foundation to true understanding of project interactions and sequencing. Underpinning any planning effort is the SoW. The SoW must be comprehensive so all risk and peripheral support such as permitting etc can be accommodated in the final planning. Risk, weather, IR and internation logistics are areas often underappreciated during early plan development.

Esto ayuda a identificar y abordar problemas rápidamente.

Il y aura toujours des imprévus et il est préférable de les voir comme des opportunités afin de projeter vos équipes dans une analyse positive et créative. Les obstacles se transformeront souvent ainsi en idées nouvelles où même en innovation que ce soit au niveau de la productivité, de la technologie ou encore de l’engagement. Cette attitude de recherche de solutions constructives n’est pas étrangère à celle que l’on provoque pour faire naître l’innovation. Debes tener confianza en tu equipo, si trabajan contigo, es el mejor equipo, pero debes motivarlo, debes establecer los objetivos y la meta de manera amplia y sobre todo comprensible, repito, comprensible. Cada uno de ellos debe estar empoderado de su capacidad y conocimiento para entregar resultados. No hay proyectos difíciles, solo hay proyectos grandes medianos y pequeños, todos son igual de complejos. Si tu equipo no tiene un buen líder y cada uno no asume el poder que tiene, entonces, todo será mas complejo.
