There are ALWAYS going to be bugs. So plan for them in your resource allocation from the beginning so you have more accurate deadlines and are not constantly scrambling (which is likely how those bugs got introduced in the first place).

People often underestimate the value of testing. Tests are there for thinking before doing and prevent us from falling into the same mistakes over and over again because we don't actually have a plan on what we want to achieve. Tests should be implementation-agnostic, so we focus on the * what * instead of on the * how *. This is sort of a result-driven approach, which at the end is how we as humans work.

Use a bug tracking tool to denote the level of urgency, level of time/difficulty, and impact to the business. Review bugs as a team on a regular basis (we do bi-weekly) and assign them out or allow your team to choose the ones they feel they can knock out with their existing work. Notes are added during review so all persons involved know what is happening with the big/request. In general you want to tackle a mix of urgent and fast, lower priority items.
