Next look at your platform, keep it regularly updated, vendors release security patches for a reason. If you use containers employ scanning on them to identify issues, and consider an IDS like snort to monitor traffic and activity. I also like to monitor up time, as this can be an indicator something's wrong, so I use up time robot, but there are other systems available. This isn't simple, more a culture of thinking.
