Problem is more with the finality model of the blockchain than whether consensus is PoW or PoS. When both blockchains have Nakamoto consensus (i.e., longest or heaviest chain wins with some probability), more confirmation blocks are needed to ensure asset move is immutable on both source and target blockchain
