Whether or not technical books are a viable option partially depends on your personal learning style. Many would say that it is an outdated way of learning, but I think taking a step back from the screen and reading a book is a good way to slow yourself down and contemplate the material a bit deeper. That being said, not all books are created equal, and beware of old books, as these fields change very quickly, so a book from five years ago might already be outdated depending on what you're learning. So do some research on what good books are available in the area.
