While finding the top-rated logistics management tools is highly important, its key to take a step back and evaluate what the right tools are for your specific business based on the industry, business size, and the network of your organization. From there, it is helpful to evaluate where the business pains are most acute, whether in the transportation network, warehousing and labor costs, network visibility, or even upstream with your ability to do Demand, Supply, and Inventory planning. Once your organization has thought through the above, begin making a roadmap outlining the softwares that address the greatest business pains, align that roadmap with budget, and then begin the process of executing the roadmap for logistics software.

I am a big software fan, but.... simple, visual. Example: People working as material planners can usually book wrong inventory due to unit of measure, some mistakes that you would never done if you do not know your material.... Implementing andon light in scm, measuring the process, evaluate workers in understandable form from higher management to operator level is an art. Limit space to immediately react on overstock in wip.... Simple, color management is creating a culture, that is very important. Used to make this practice with my mentor (despite my opinion was different in that time) result was fantastic!
