What are the key differences between SOAP and REST protocols for EAI?

SOAP and REST move over HTTPs transport protocol, REST message protocol can be JSON/ XML/ ODATA but for SOAP it has to be XML. REST is thin and fast as the payload is in the HTTP Body but in case of soap the payload is inside soap body which is inside http body, 2 layer of encapsulation.
