How do you gather feedback from your team?

Having a discussion on what outcomes you're looking for and why you're asking for feedback & insight is critical in getting the right information. Transparency & openness are important in achieving productive & useful feedback to get to your goals.

- Clear communication of what is required. - Respecting their opinions and the time they have given. - Implementation of concrete feedbacks in real time.

When gathering feedback, it's important to have an open mind and listen carefully. Be prepared to adopt potential changes and have empathy. Empathy is often confused with sympathy, but it's crucial to understand the difference.

Technology is amazing and we have so very many options for collecting feedback now. Explore the tools you have now, consider your intent, and experiment with different methods - whether it's a poll survey or a more intense survey in Teams - do what works best for the team & for the outcomes you're looking for.

Agreed - clear, concise questions help teams to understand what you're asking. Avoid compound questions - focus on 1 item per question. When using technology, consider different answer options - using a scale, freeform text, yes/no, multiple choice, etc. mix it up! Also consider using team health tools, like Agility Health or the assessments available through SAFe.

To do the above, you really have to define & create a safe space for your team to engage. They need to know they can speak freely and express differing opinions. This is how we grow as teams & as people.

I agree with the above statement and I want to add, to take regular feedback from the employee and encourage him, company management should make him realise that his feedback was valuable and we are going to implement or implemented it by this or that way. Thus employees will feel proud in the company and always think better or generate new ideas or ways for the company.

Collecting feedback is only meaningful if it can produce actionable change, which can then be acknowledged and recognized by the same individuals who offered the feedback. Everyone wants to be heard and feel they're contributing to the bigger picture.

Cutting through the noise and focusing on the needful items to work through is an important step & often missed. Oftentimes we gather ideas but don't take the next steps to prioritize & ACTION the ideas. And create feedback loops on how the actioning is going.
