Early in my career, I led a new product development team that faced challenges with tight deadlines and interdepartmental communication. As the team leader, I introduced regular dedicated meetings to actively listen to the team's concerns and ideas, as well as those from affected areas. During these meetings, I focused entirely on team members, asking clear questions to understand the issues they faced. I regularly summarized key points and encouraged staff to freely express their opinions. Even then, I recognized that active listening not only strengthened team relationships but also improved productivity, team cohesion, and job satisfaction.

I remember an experience where the company I worked for was undergoing significant organizational changes due to entering a new market. The CEO organized a series of regular meetings with all employees to openly discuss the reasons behind the changes, the challenges we were facing, and the strategies being implemented to ensure success in the new market. During these meetings, board members encouraged employees to ask questions and voice their concerns. The CEO also regularly shared updates on the company's performance in this new market, highlighting both successes and obstacles. This approach created a transparent work environment where employees felt informed and integral to the process.
