Según mi experiencia, y teniendo en cuenta que llevo toda mi carrera profesional en un " mundo de hombres" como ha sido siempre la " logística y el transporte" . ;puedo asegurar que en ningún momento me he sentido discriminada por razón antes de sexo y ahora con 60 años por edad. Creo que en gran medida esta en nuestra mano hacernos respetar como un trabajador mas . Yo lo he conseguido y soy madre hija y abuela. Estoy enamorada de mi trabajo y supongo que todo esto hace que sienta que estoy donde quiero estar.

Mentoring could be one way to give back to society by motivating the next generation. Warehousing in the new age of technology is changing and delivering the stuff within the shortest possible time to it's valued customers, still the experience of retired people can help value addition by using their vast experience of the past. Right set of persons required in every field including warehousing who can understand the requirements of the customers, optimise the time and cost but in doing so the experience of retired person can help in a big way as their experience understand well the importance of fulfilling the requirements of the customers.

I have been able to continue my career in warehouse operation management by be relied on as more of and analytical expert, by resolving discrepancies and fixing critical issues. This past 6 months since returning from a 1 year medical leave of absence, I have been tasked more in the mentoring of younger and less experienced employees. I have also been tasked as a project manager in how we store and distribute our service department part, assemblies and kits. In conclusion you can make yourself valuable by keeping your mind open to resolving and creating new processes even if your body is not able to do the physical work you were use to.

Yes I am agree. Up-to-date makes perfect. Learning is the best way to survive. Sharing knowledge with co-workers is to learn and teach each other. Still I am a learner. Job retirement is there but learning has no age limit.

Be open to part time work for when they need assistance or even as a relief worker as others have holidays or training days.

As a retired Quality Control and Food Safety Manager, I would say that a good help for any Warehouse Food Plant would be to have a professional like this involved in an internal audit in order to prepare for the next annual inspection to succeed with over 90 score. Every year the Inspection criteria are revise and you need to be on top of the new changes if you want to pass with flying colors. Good Luck.
