I have worked remotely way before Covid. While there are advantages to it, you have to deal with lack of network and participation. To tackle that you have to embrace technology. One way is to participate in a lot of events remotely. Other ways are to be involved in specialist technical groups. These groups will not only add value to your knowledge but also help others through your experience.

I would add: Take advantage of the environment. It's easier to do deep work, because you can be free of distractions when working remotely. If you need to deep dive on something and give it 100% of your focus, you can set your availability to "do not disturb" and work with focus. This is more difficult with in-office work. Both remote work and in-office work have their advantages and disadvantages, though.
