Before getting into visualising the data, understand the problem statement. Identify the what, why and how behind it. Then move on to the critical variables in your data affecting the why, what and how. Eg. for understanding conversion rates, a simple funnel chart is a lot more useful and indicative of next steps compared to any fancy graphs provided by the interactive tools. Just because one has access to multiple data points, doesn’t mean all are contributing to the problem statement and all needs to be presented via charts.
