As key it is to have an ‘all hands on deck’ approach, timely, accurate comms and co-ordination of the steps to resolution are key. Assess the incident, scope and impact on production and therefore to the business. The primary objective to any incident and impact to production is to return it to normal and agreed levels in the lowest duration of time in a safe and orderly manner. Use iTIL Incident Management frameworks to model your support response. Remember iTIL is a framework to use across all size and type of industries it’s important to model this to your specific requirements by making the necessary modifications. This will further assist you to ensure that your purpose to maintain the integrity of production is achieved at each step

The problem needs to be "scaled" to determine the true limits of the delay. Once it is determined, managing to the root cause level and redirecting resources (labor) is key to tackling the delay and the addressing the impact the surge on capacity the delay has caused.
