About The Role & Team
Are you an expert publicity professional with a background in the film or entertainment industry? An opportunity has arisen for a Publicity Manager to join Walt Disney Studios and lead our communications strategies for a number of exciting titles in the UK market, with a strong focus on Marvel and Lucasfilm IPs!
In this role, you will be a part of the UK Studios Publicity team to co-develop and implement strategic communication campaigns for all films and D+ series (studios content only) released in the UK alongside the brand leads. The Publicity Manager will support the publicity management team and work holistically with the marketing brand lead in the roll out and future planning of films under these brands. They work across the life cycle of a film from production through to release and then EHV and SVOD .

What You Will Do
- Campaign Leadership –take lead on titles in their remit to deliver robust, engaging and strategic publicity campaigns that compliment the overall UK comms plan for a title.
- Media Relations – day to day conversations with print, broadcast and online media including pitching and selling in talent interviews/appearances, features, securing confirmations for screenings and building brand relationships with press including keeping a finger on the pulse of new journalists/movements within the industry to ensure a level of excellence in communicating the Disney brand is upheld to the British press.
- Insights – tracking changes in the media landscape to support strategy across all titles by recognising current trends, conversations and competitor activity and sharing this with other Disney teams.
- Talent Execution – Driving talent activations as strategically determined by the Senior Manager by including interviews with long lead publications, media participation at global/EMEA events/junkets, TV and Radio appearances plus social activations. Also to support on handling of talent during tours/press days.
- Press Office/Material Management – Managing roll out of content including exclusives with outlets and pitching to key media outlets. Press office duties to also include being a point of contact for enquiries and being reactive to requests from media.
- Internal Communications/Reporting – supporting the flow of communication and representing UK Studio publicity with the wider studio – UK, EMEA and Burbank - teams, UK comms team, franchise, across lines of business, and more.
- Screening Management –map out screening dates and coordinate with the team publicist the booking of suitable venues and managing all logistics involved, including creation of invites with creative teams, coordinating invites & allocations, and being the face of Disney Studios when checking in media/influencers at screening events.
- Event Support – supporting across all key Studio Publicity and D+ Studio events including media liaison and logistical support to make our events run smoothly, efficiently and to be best in class.
- Influencer Management - explore ways to build relationships, work with and involve influences in relevant events.
- Ability to lead the day-to-day activities of a press office and experience of drafting and implementing plans.
- Experience in running successful projects such as campaigns and events.
- A good understanding of competitor brands and the wider sector agenda to enable the individual to spot opportunities for the Disney organization
- Understanding of the Disney organisation so that opportunities can be spotted and the broader implications of decisions can be understood.
- Expert media knowledge with a good network of contacts in the industry.
- Experience of working on national campaigns and of working with external 3rd parties including leading basic negotiations and contracting.
- Experience with publicity for both theatrical and streaming.
