The Line Engineer is accountable for PET film production on their assigned asset and

plays a key role in monitoring, reporting, and improving production performance.

Working as part of a small Asset Team, the Line Engineer is tasked with the daily coordination of safe and efficient film production operations to meet the production plan. The Line Engineer plays a key role in the coordination of raw material and critical consumable availability, and in the coordination of corrective maintenance.

The Line Engineer is responsible for the planning of efficient product transitions and the development and issuing of cleaning schedules, grade change instructions and equipment start-up and shutdown checklists.

The Line Engineer is responsible for the troubleshooting of both short, medium, and long-term process and product issues. They support process and product development and therefore can be called upon to assist with production trials.

Key Responsibilities

  • Leading daily production meetings and coordination of activities between operations, maintenance, latex, recovery, and technical teams.
  • Leading troubleshooting activities related to process, process equipment and product.
  • Managing raw material, silo and recycle logistics to meet the production plan.
  • Planning and requesting hardware to meet the production plan.
  • Working with trades to provide worklists for hardware changes.
  • Planning polymer and hardware changes and providing changeover checklists.
  • Recording of production and breakdown information.
  • Leading and supporting continuous improvement projects.
  • Knowledge and experience of focusing on safety in all aspects of work.
  • A degree in a related Engineering or Science discipline.
  • Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.
  • Excellent critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
  • Data analysis, planning and organizational skills.
  • Ability to project manage and determination to accomplish goals.
  • Good leadership qualities with the ability to provide direction and motivate others.
  • The ability to use Microsoft applications including databases and spreadsheets, learn shop floor systems and other computer programmes used by the business.
  • Be flexible and available for out-of-hours work when this is necessary.
