Last week we were thrilled to play host to an international study tour of industry leaders all the way from Australia who wanted to see what best in class IRC developments are like in the UK. Their group of 25 took the time to take a tour around our stunning Siddington Park village in Gloucestershire. The group had the opportunity to experience everything the village had to offer our owners whilst also receiving insights into all the workings that make not just Siddington Park, but all our villages at Rangeford, the best the industry has to offer. Rangeford Villages is excited to announce that we have expanded our specialist sales team with the appointment of Joanna Wady as our Regional Sales Manager. Joanna joins us at a pivotal moment in our journey this year and will be working closely with all five of our current later-living developments for the over- 60s in the UK. Joanna previously worked as Sales Manager within the retirement housing industry and will be bringing her wealth of experience in this sector to Rangeford. Have you met our new village manager yet? Last month we appointed Susan Martinsen as our new Village Manager at our Homewood Grove village, between the historic towns of Ottershaw and Chertsey in Surrey Susan joins us from a retirement village in Cranleigh where she held the position of Deputy Village Manager for 5 years. During that time, she was responsible for a number of initiatives that improved the food and beverage operation and wellness offering at the village. This experience she says, will be beneficial for her new role and in particular, for overseeing our new on-site restaurant ‘Oak and Honey’ and the ‘Revive’ wellness centre, at the heart of the village. We are proud to announce that Carlene Goodearl, our Senior Development Manager here at Rangeford Villages, has been shortlisted at the CITB Awards’ Top 100 Influencers 2024 in the ‘Influencer’ category, ‘Client’ subcategory. Now in their third year, the awards showcase the influential women that work in construction, making female and non-binary role models more visible and accessible to inspire others, and demonstrating that the sector is open to everyone. The shortlist features nominated women across each of five categories, with the final Top 100 Most Influential Women in Construction being unveiled at the 2024 Women in Construction Awards in September. The top 100 shortlist celebrates the women that work at every level within the sector and their phenomenal achievements, while also highlighting how the industry supports and values equality. Carlene plays an integral role here at Rangeford Villages and works incredibly hard to not only inspire and motivate her team but also showcase the importance of women in construction more widely. It is not every day that one of our village owners takes on an extreme stunt for charity, but Josie Howley, an owner at our Siddington Park village, took to the skies standing on top of a classic 1940s Boeing Stearman biplane. Flying from RFC Rendcomb Airfield, home to the world’s only aerobatic wing-walking team, Aerosuperbatics WingWalkers, with their lead display pilot, David Barrell, took Josie up to 800 feet and travelling at 140 mph! Josie took on this daring stunt to raise £2,500 for her chosen charity, Meningitis Now. We are excited to announce that further work has begun to expand our Wadswick Green village in Corsham, Wiltshire. Contractor Beard has already begun work on the next phase of the development, which will see the final two blocks built and consist of 45 apartments. We have called these new blocks "Walnut Lane" Our CEO, Howard Nankivell, commented on our new development, saying, “We are very excited to be very near completing the latest in our collection of luxury retirement villages."
