Today, our Industry Operations team hosted their quarterly engagement session, featuring guest speakers from our industry partners, London North Eastern Railway, South Western Railway, and Northern. The discussions covered important topics, like driver recruitment, operational strategy, and #rail apprenticeships. The session provided an excellent opportunity for collaboration, allowing our colleagues and partners to share valuable insights. A key takeaway from the event was the continued emphasis on developing talent within our industry to help shape the #railway of the future.

Transport UK Group year in review! Highlighting key achievements across our group, including of course, those initiatives we at #EMR are continuing to develop and deliver. Such as the introduction of our new 🇬🇧 built, Hitachi Rail Bi-Mode #Class810 #Aurora trains, that will 📈 increase capacity by 45% and support our 🌍 carbon reduction aims. We have seen passenger revenue increase by 19%, delivering 450 trains a day, and by developing attractive products such as our Luton Airport Express, with a 52% increase in customers choosing to travel on this route. Read the full report ⬇️ to learn about how our business (page 14-15) and our partner operations are performing and the milestones acheived 🚆 https://lnkd.in/egkSpC3E Ahead 👀 Investing in our people and infrastructure as we prepare for the arrival our new #Aurora fleet. In parallel, 🛠️ upgrade works continue at the Etches Park, Eastcroft and Bedford Cauldwell depots to improve operational safety, efficiency and performance. Our £60 million investment to refurbish our #Class360, #Class158 and #Class170 trains will begin, providing more luggage space and better facilities for commuter, leisure and airport travellers. Continuing to better connect communities, we will be introducing an all-day hourly service between #Crewe and #Newark from December 2024. In addition, we are working with industry partners such as Network Rail, to deliver multi-million-pound accessibility improvements at stations such as #Alfreton and #Beeston.

People living near the Northumberland Line are being warned to take extra care with more trains now running on the major upgraded route. Driver training has started meaning the line is now far busier than any time in the last 60 years – with Network Rail warning that people must not be complacent when it comes to crossing the line. #railnews #railways #ukrail #rail

Have you heard of the Green Travel pledge? 🌱 ✍️ The Green Travel Pledge is a commitment by the British rail industry to provide detailed, accurate and reliable data on the carbon emissions of rail journeys. The goal is to encourage a shift away from car and plane travel when a more sustainable rail journey is available. 🚀 The pledge was spearheaded by Rail Delivery Group, the organization responsible for coordinating Britain's railways (BIG responsibility), and they teamed up with Thrust Carbon and 3Squared Ltd to provide the sustainability data. With the recent publication of the pledge's Phase 2 results, we are thrilled to announce that our carbon data is now available for over 40,000 point-to-point business travel routes across Britain! 🤓 This latest data shows that carbon emissions are lower on 93.8% of these rail journeys compared to traveling by petrol/diesel car, so it's safe to say that rail is generally your most sustainable business travel option in the UK. Read all about the Green Travel Pledge and the impact it is making with the link in the comments! #GreenTravelPledge #Sustainability #Travel
