Leading the way in bespoke therapeutic care and education for children and young people.
About us
At Pebbles, we offer transformative care and education to children and young people aged 8-18 across Scotland and England who need a safe and loving space to call "home" and thrive. Our journey to brighten young lives started in 2003. Since then, our unwavering commitment to innovation and excellence has enabled us to grow into a national service with over 50 welcoming homes and two innovative schools, where our young people experience a genuine sense of family and learn within a nurturing environment. Therapeutic Parenting is at the heart of all that we do. We are therapeutic every hour and every day, providing healing and life-changing journeys to children and young people who have sadly endured trauma and neglect in their early years. Across Pebbles independent schools, we provide every opportunity to learn and develop through our ground-breaking Adapt Learning model, offering blended pathways tailored to individual needs, from remote to classroom learning, vocational development, and outdoor education. All this is underpinned by the invaluable input of in-house forensic psychologists, who provide the direct and indirect psychological support that enables children to recover from early adversities and flourish into adulthood. It is our people who make our mission to brighten young lives possible. We invest in our employees, offering exceptional career progression opportunities and unrivalled benefits, making us an employer of choice as well as an outstanding residential child care and education provider. We are always eager to welcome into our family more talented and passionate individuals willing to make a real difference in young lives. If this is you, we’d love to hear your story.

Our Scottish homes recently got together for a summer BBQ and sports day. The unpredictable Scottish weather didn't deter our young people from getting involved in sports day classics such as the egg and spoon race and three-legged race. Thank you to our chefs and to our event team for making the day such a success!

We have been blown away with the amount of entries we received in our Flourish & Thrive green project. We are delighted to be able to announce the winner of our final category, Garden Kitchen, with you. The garden kitchen category was all about growing food and learning about being self sufficient. There’s no better feeling than being able to go into the garden to pick some fresh herbs to sprinkle on your plate! Bell View’s young person loves to eat fresh fruit and vegetables so this was the perfect category for them to enter. They planted strawberries and have already picked their first crop! They also planted coriander, tomato seeds and pepper seeds, which are growing beautifully. And lastly, they planted a pear and apple tree which should start to bear fruit within the next year or two. We are pleased to share our penultimate category in our Flourish & Thrive green initiative, Wildlife Lovers. This category encouraged our homes to help wildlife thrive in their gardens, and Kyllimoons took this invitation to heart. Their young person carefully planted Begonias, Campanulas, Lobelias, and Nasturtiums, learning a lot about these plants and their benefits to the ecosystem. Our Flourish & Thrive project had a category that every home could take part in, no matter the size of their garden space. For our homes without an outdoor space, Indoor Green Beauties was the perfect category to showcase indoor plants. Jasper House is lucky to have a big back garden, but it is completely concrete, so they decided to concentrate their efforts on this category, keeping in mind that ‘green’ spaces promote good mental wellbeing as they stimulate lower frequency brain waves, helping relax and think creatively. Our green project, Flourish & Thrive was set up as a fun and educational experience for our teams and young people to take part in. We are delighted to be able to share the winners of each of the five categories with you throughout this week. The second category is Best Blooming Corner. This category challenged our homes with tiny outdoor spaces to create nice green corners, that could also become beautiful mindfulness areas. With the limited space available, St Teresa impressed us with their efforts to make every corner of their outdoor area bloom. Earlier this year, we launched the first green project in Pebbles' history: Flourish & Thrive, a fun and educational experience aimed at harvesting hope and cultivating change across our homes. We are delighted to be able to share the winners of each of the five categories with you this week across our social media channels. First up is the Mastering Upcycling category. Our Murraythwaite home gave a third life to something that had already been upcycled before. They revamped a seating area created from pallets in the past, repainting it and using old tyres to create planters. They also scattered wildflower seeds to help attract wildlife, and added other planters with fresh herbs and lavender to give a lovely aroma.
