STCW Direct course of the day from Fire Aid Academy Update Training Package (PST & UFPFF) Under the STCW Convention and Code, updated proficiency training will be required every 5 years. Our update courses are delivered to all Seafarers and Security Personnel who hold a Basic Fire Prevention & Fire Fighting and Personal Survival Techniques certificate. Our course modules last up to 1 day and are delivered with a mixture of practical and theory based exercises. Courses give delegates the chance to restore and update their current knowledge and skills. STCW Direct course of the day from STCW..ONLINE Safety Officer on Board – ONLINE Every ship appoints a ship safety officer to handle important safety issues related to the ship and the crew. The safety officer acts as the safety advisor on board ships and ensures that all requirements related to health and safety are met. On the basis of risk assessments and investigations, the ship safety officer makes recommendations to the master on health and safety matters. It is the duty of the safety officer to look out for potential hazards and means of preventing incidents on board ship. This Safety Officer on Board online course further discusses these topics. The Safety Officer on Board online course is based on the Guidelines given in the STCW Code 2010 Table A-II/2 & A-III/2 and IMO Model Course 3.11 (Marine Accident & Incident Investigation). STCW Direct hot course from SQ Learn Personal Safety and Social Responsibilities (PSSR), ONLINE, Liberia approved, Panama accepted The course is designed to prepare new recruits for life on a ship at sea where they will experience a vastly different living and working environment compared to that if they were living and working ashore. Working on a ship can be a hazardous occupation for the uninitiated. This course will give new seafarers an insight into the various elements of a ship and working procedures on board so that they adjust to the shipboard environment and are better prepared to cope with any unforeseen circumstances. To that extent, this course is planned to make their transition from ashore to a sea career as smooth as possible and provide some understanding of a seafarer’s working environment and the hazards, procedures and safe work practices they will encounter, before they actually step on board a ship.
